So...why co garden I hear you ask?
For me, gardening is one of the most wonderful activities that humans can partake in... not only is it awe inspiring watching seeds you have planted begin to grow or to eat your own home grown produce, it also enables us to help the environment by creating habitats in which wildlife can thrive, living alongside us.
Gardening is a highly practical activity, grounding our feet firmly on the soil when modern life can feel so technology based, overwhelming and overstimulating.
And as if all this wasn't enough, gardens provide a feast for the senses; with rainbow coloured flowers, heavenly floral and herbal scents and stimulating plant textures not to mention glorious fresh air oh so good for us!
I could go on at length extolling the healing wonders of horticulture, but that's for another day!
Now, all of the above said, I also completely appreciate and understand that having your own garden can also feel overwhelming (a new home, a new outdoor space with different growing conditions, perhaps a move to a new build that is a complete blank canvas, taking on a new allotment, or maybe just a lack of inspiration for a garden you have long tended to) and another job on the looooong to do list that needs ticking.
This is why I set up co garden.
I love gardening and I want to help others to share that love and appreciation for their outside space. My intention is to lessen the overwhelm, help to harness your inner creative and build confidence in your growing skills, because EVERYONE can do it!
I see co gardening as a sliding scale of input, that is, we can 'co' by looking at the space together and coming up with a plan of action that you may prefer me to undertake. You may want to join me for say 15 minutes each time I visit, to learn a new task or ask my advice. Or you might want to join me the whole time allowing me to guide and teach you (and maybe the kids too?!) different growing skills. I'm open to all these approaches, making space for that all important and magical co creation.
